Wedding Fair at Menzies Hotel Irvine

Had a great day on Sunday and enjoyed meeting all the brides to be and their families. Thanks to all who took the time to talk to me and admire my work.

I have been contacted already and will be working with a bride to create her hair accessory, jewellery and also bridesmaid's accessories. I am really looking forward to this - very exciting!

Wedding Fair at Menzies Hotel Irvine

I will be exhibiting at the above event on Sunday 3 October, 2010. This is the first time I have attended this fair but it has been running for 4 years now. There will be a wide variety of Ayrshire Wedding Suppliers so this should give all brides to be a chance to meet with local businesses.

Of course I'll be there! Do come and see my range of bridal hair accessories, handmade jewellery and handcrafted sterling silver - all designed and made by myself.

A fully bespoke service is available for you to help design something to make your very own. Colour matching to dresses is available. I can also design a hair accessory with elements of the wedding dress if required.

Look forward to meeting all of you there!

Car Breakdown! Man takes a tumble!

As I was saying my car had broken down outside of Silverburn Shopping Centre. It was a beautiful night and I had decided that I would go home and sit out in my newly completed garden. Instead I had to wait for the AA to come - so I decided to go for a browse round Tesco. The AA send you a text and let you know when they will arrive so I was able to return to my car around 6.30 pm.

The guy arrived on time at 6.40 pm and began to inspect the said burning (did I forget to say 'smoking' coming from the engine?) He checked the water (which was low) and added water. This is something that should not reduce unless there is a leak apparently. However, he proceeded to tell me that there was no oil! I had just had my car serviced but I just don't check the oil - does anyone?

Well I proceeded to the Tesco Shop to purchased the oil and the AA Guy came after me to see if I had purchased the appropriate oil. He then went back to the car to put in the oil. When I had paid and returned to my car he told me he had taken a tumble! He had tripped on a metal strip on the forecourt and had apparently fallen headlong! He seemed ok but what a night!

Eventually I drove back home and by this time it was after 8 pm - no sitting in the garden for me! So far the car still seems ok so here's hoping!

Scotland's Exclusive Wedding Event

Pretty tired after two full days at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. However, I met some really nice people - both brides to be and exhibitors! The show was really well organised and I would consider exhibiting again. I enjoyed meeting all the very excited wedding parties and hearing about their plans for the Big Day. I also had a chance to chat with a lot of brides and explain how I might design and create a unique hair accessory for their Wedding Day. I feel that many had not thought of this idea before and were indeed surprised that this service was available.

I finally completed my design for Michaela of Love's Philosophy Bridal. This is a bridal boutique which offers a unique service - individual appointments in the evening and weekends for the busy bride. I have designed the 'Chloe' vintage inspired headpiece which is available to order through 'Love's Philosophy Bridal. Why not check out the website for a truly individual wedding gown

Jewellery Making Open Evening by Sheila Kerr

After a hectic day I made my way to the Prestwick Community Centre to set up the tables for the Open Evening. I was delighted that people came along to find out what is on offer. I have put details of all courses as well as Saturday Workshops for the month of September.

Why not take a look and see if anything appeals?

Today

What a perfect afternoon I had. It was at last nice enough to sit in my garden and do some work outdoors. I have all my jewellery making paraphenalia set up on a beading tray on a small table (to ensure I don't lose anything! I had to repair a fabulous necklace made of beautiful jade and a stunning handmade silver flower. I then strung some peachy freshwater pearls for a client who requested an 18 inch string which is her preferred length. This person has purchased pearls from me before - she is a bit of a pearl addict just like myself. The sun was shining, there was a slight breeze and I could hear the seagulls in the distance. At last I feel as if it is summer.

However, this was quite fleeting as later on the dark clouds came over and I was forced to complete my work indoors. As I look out it is quite sunny again. A perfect evening for a walk along the beach and why not?

Monogrammed shoe in Swarovski Siam

I enjoyed this commission and added two cursive 'J' to these converse shoes. I can do this on any shoe you desire!
