Robert Burns 'My Luv is like a red red rose.' silver Jewellery Collection

My Luv is ... Sterling silver pendant and stud earrings
inspired by Robert Burns created by Sheila Kerr

The inspiration behind this design is from Scotland's National Bard - Robert Burns and his poem 'My Luv is like a red red rose that's newly sprung in June.

Sheila Kerr has lovingly handcrafted the pieces using sterling silver with a hand hammered finish.  The pendant measures 18 mm x 10 mm x 2 mm depth with a 'hidden' loop bail with 18 inch sterling silver rope chain.  Silver stud earrings are 8 mm x 9 mm x 2 mm deep.  All pieces carry Sheila Kerr's maker's mark as well has the traditional hallmarks from the Edinburgh Assay Office, Scotland.

Here's My Heart sterling silver ring

'Here's my heart' ring by Sheila Kerr

I have been working on various ring designs recently and this particular design was inspired by my love of hearts!  Created using sterling silver 'D' wire this ring overlaps but is a fixed size ring as the silver heart with 'swirl' detail is soldered to secure the piece. Any finish can be created - matt, satin or high shine.

Robert Burns Jewellery Collection Photoshoot

Robert Burns Jewellery Collection was inspired by the poetry and love songs of Scotland's famous poet.  Sheila Kerr, a jewellery designer/maker, lives in Ayrshire and works from her harbourside studio in Irvine, Ayrshire - the heart of Burns country and it was while visiting the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum that she was inspired to create the 'Ae Fond Kiss' design.

ASB Most Enterprising Business 2013 Finalist

Sheila Kerr Jewellery is delighted to be awarded runner up in the Association of Scottish Businesswomen Awards:

Most Enterprising Business 2013

Nominated as Ayrshire Finalist in this category and the results were announced at a fabulous Gala Dinner on Friday 30 August, 2013 at Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen.

Various criteria were judged including uniqueness of business idea/product, use of social media, customer care/engagement and opportunity for growth.

Another great achievement for Sheila Kerr Jewellery and thanks goes to The Ayrshire Association of Businesswomen for nominating us!

International order to Italy

Through the medium of social media and more specifically Facebook, I received a commission to create a bride's tiara.  The bride to be had befriended me on Facebook and came from Salerno in Italy.  She contacted me via Facebook Chat and (in Italian) explained that she wished to order a bespoke headpiece for her wedding day. She chose the 'Ava' headpiece with a customised twist of amber coloured Swarovski Elements (c) crystals.

Using Google translate I was able to communicate in Italian too!  The headpiece was created and finally posted off in plenty of time.
