The 'Ailsa' Collection

The Ailsa Collection was inspired by the local landmark which is visible from the Ayrshire coast of Scotland where I live and work.  Each evening we are privileged to view a different sunset as we look to the West.  Locals and visitors alike are inspired by this view - artists and photographers and me!

The Ailsa Collection began with the solid silver pendant and now includes matching stud earrings, Cufflinks and a lapel/cravat pin.

Sterling Silver Golf Collection on sale at Turnberry Pro Shop

As an existing supplier to Turnberry Hotel Shop I had an idea of creating a sterling silver collection aimed at Turnberry Golf Club.  I approached Turnberry and was delighted that they liked my idea and design.  After many months I have finally launched the collection and it is now on sale in the Professional's Shop in the Turnberry Club House.  It comprises of a silver ball marker, Cufflinks and Tie Slide.  Hallmarked with 'SK' maker's mark at the Edinburgh Assay Office.

Turnberry is a Golf Open Championshionship venue in Ayrshire, Scotland and the hotel and golf course has recently been purchased by Donald Trump.

Sterling silver Turnberry Collection

Having designed a bespoke silver golf collection for Turnberry Golf Shop, Scotland, I had planned to approach another championship course.  I contacted the Professional at my chosen course and was delighted that he responded to my email.

As he was away for a few weeks we had arranged a meeting this morning.  I approached the Clubhouse with trepidation.  However, I had nothing to worry about,  the professional loved the Turnberry golf ball marker and Cufflinks and remarked on the high quality finish.  Of course a bespoke design service means that this new course logo will appear on the silver golf ball marker and Cufflinks.

So I best get to work on this design!  Announcement will be made within 3-4 weeks of the particular
course.

Silver 'A' Star Pendant Commission

Received an email regarding the commissioning of a silver pendant based on the customer's rough pencil drawing.  He had wanted the pendant created for his partner who had lost a special pendant some years previously.  This was for a surprise Christmas gift.  The original drawing was a Capital A but with 2 further points creating a star like design.  After a some tweaking of the original drawing the final design was agreed.  The images show the finished design in sterling silver - dimensions are approximately 25 mm with 18 inch sterling silver rope chain.

On completion of the work the customer collected the pendant which was presented in our Sheila Kerr luxury velvet gift box ready for Christmas Day.

He was delighted and said that it was exactly how he had pictured the finished design!

Silver Rings Pendant with personalised engraving - a special commission

Silver Rings Pendant

I received a phone call asking if I might create a unique bespoke commission - six sterling silver rings with each one having a specific name engraved onto each. The rings sit perfectly on top of each other when worn and the wearer may choose which ones to wear and the order worn.  Each ring is hallmarked with my 'SK' personal maker's mark from the Edinburgh Assay Office in Scotland.

This commission was created for Nick as a gift for his wife for Christmas 2013.  It was particularly poignant as Nick's wife had been seriously ill over the past year and he wanted to give her something really special with all her loved ones included - particularly those who had supported her through a most difficult time.  The commission was conducted online as although Nick lived locally, he wanted to make this a surprise but was able to collect the finished article.

Robert Burns 'My Luv is like a red red rose.' silver Jewellery Collection

My Luv is ... Sterling silver pendant and stud earrings
inspired by Robert Burns created by Sheila Kerr

The inspiration behind this design is from Scotland's National Bard - Robert Burns and his poem 'My Luv is like a red red rose that's newly sprung in June.

Sheila Kerr has lovingly handcrafted the pieces using sterling silver with a hand hammered finish.  The pendant measures 18 mm x 10 mm x 2 mm depth with a 'hidden' loop bail with 18 inch sterling silver rope chain.  Silver stud earrings are 8 mm x 9 mm x 2 mm deep.  All pieces carry Sheila Kerr's maker's mark as well has the traditional hallmarks from the Edinburgh Assay Office, Scotland.

Here's My Heart sterling silver ring

'Here's my heart' ring by Sheila Kerr

I have been working on various ring designs recently and this particular design was inspired by my love of hearts!  Created using sterling silver 'D' wire this ring overlaps but is a fixed size ring as the silver heart with 'swirl' detail is soldered to secure the piece. Any finish can be created - matt, satin or high shine.

Robert Burns Jewellery Collection Photoshoot

Robert Burns Jewellery Collection was inspired by the poetry and love songs of Scotland's famous poet.  Sheila Kerr, a jewellery designer/maker, lives in Ayrshire and works from her harbourside studio in Irvine, Ayrshire - the heart of Burns country and it was while visiting the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum that she was inspired to create the 'Ae Fond Kiss' design.
